We know that we shouldn't’t judge a book by its cover. Nor should we judge a church in that manner either. Yes, Heise Hill Church has existed for over 203 years, but don’t be fooled. We have a history of adapting to change and we are currently in the midst of another season of change. We are not talking about change for the sake of change, but rather change for the sake of wanting to be relevant to people who want a real life-changing relationship with God and aren’t interested in just going through a series of religious rituals and rules to get there.

Heise Hill Church is part of a movement of Christian churches trying to push back through 2000 years of religious tradition to learn from the biblical Jesus. We’re a safe place to ask questions, investigate Jesus, and develop your faith. If you’re looking for an experience of spiritual community, consider yourself invited. We're trying to make God relevant to the lives of those around us.

We’re a church that puts Jesus at the centre of our interpretation of the Bible. We’re conservative in our principles but liberal in our love. We embrace the counter-cultural values of peace, simplicity, and service.

God created us as relational beings, not to pursue him alone, but to pursue him with others. At Heise Hill we’re intentionally facilitating community with our Home Churches. It’s there that we’ll walk along side each other, and figure out how we apply Jesus’ teachings to our lives in relevant ways, and by our lives I don‘t mean our inwardly focused lives, but our other-centered lives where we care for each other, for our brothers and sisters in Christ, and for our neighbours.

Jesus delivered a radical irreligious message calling us to engage with those around us. We want to be a community that puts the love of God and the brilliance of Jesus on display in authentic, compelling ways. It’s what Jesus calls us to.

We want to be a place where lives are changed. We invite you to come walk along side us on this journey.

Blessings, Steve
