Why Home Church?

We’re not trying to reinvent church.  Rather, we are seeking to return to the picture of church that we find over and over again in the New Testament as God’s people coming together in community. We are called to live that out in the ways we live and interact with one another. Our intent is to make Home Church the basic church family unit at Heise Hill. It is the place where we gather to do life together.

It is when we gather in relationship that we come face to face with the presence of God. It is through the community that mercy is offered. God is not confined to a particular place or building. Now, the holy space is the space between us when are in relationship.  It is wherever two or more are gathered in the name of Jesus.

The desire of our community is to reflect God’s love to the world, and we are to be Christ’s hands and feet as we reach out to those in need.  We need to take seriously this call to be Christ’s presence, and think deeply about what that means if we’re to be authentic followers of Jesus.
